FCPS Suggestion Physical medicine Paper 1 Preparation :
The 1st paper out of 3 papers in Physical Medicine is basically –
Anatomy
- anatomy upper limb,
- lower limb,
- nervous system,
- musculoskeletal system,
- head neck brain eye ball must be read well
- heart, lung, urinary bladder and read.
- Good questions come from histology (muscle, blood vessels histology).
However, the origin, insertion, blood supply, nerve supply, action of each muscle must be read. Yes each. For example, having so many muscles in the body, this time the test is the anconeus muscle, medial rectus muscle (eye).
An important part of Paper 1preparetion
is the musculoskeletal system and nervous system from Davidson’s principle & practice of medicine. Questions can come from every chart and picture. And you have to read the book macleod examination. Here also the musculoskeletal, nervous system.
FCPS Part 1 Criteria and Marking System
FCPS Physical medicine Paper 2 Preparation :
Paper 2 in two parts.
- 1. Physiology
- 2. ELECTRO PHYSIOLOGY.
In the physiology ( body fluid, electrolyte, basic physiology, nervous system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, renal system, muscle physiology, GIT physiology) should be studied.
A book by Professor Dr. Taslim Sir’s BASIC ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY is available. Which is Enough for electrophysiolgy.
FCPS Physical medicine Paper 3 Preparation :
Pathology ( any book)
Pharmacology ( visions is good)
basic pharmacology,
anti depressant,
sedative hypnotics,
NSAID’S,
steroids,
DMARD needs details.
Must read immunology.
And finally must read biostatistics

Davidson principle of medicine is the Bible of medical science.
The question comes from here in 3 papers.
- musculoskeletal system (must),
- nervous system (must),
- cardiovascular system (must),
- respiratory system,
- The renal system must be read.
- Fortunately, microbiology does not matter.
Difficult words: The most difficult thing in physical medicine is to get 80% marks in Paper 1. But the other two papers are no less important; Since 60% marks have to be kept in each. You can take Dilip Sir’s surgery class for coaching. But Sir does not teach ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY. In that case you can do ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY class in Genesis. Of course the whole preparation can also be taken in Genesis. And not coaching is a personal matter. Before, everyone used to pass without coaching. Today is 4-5 years since the coaching business tradition was introduced.
Before taking the preparation, you must collect the book of Physical Medicine Suggestion of BCPS. You have to collect some sheet notes along with the book. 1-1.5 months before the exam, Professor Taslim Sir took 2-3 classes in PG. If possible, be present in groups.
Remember that the preparation for physical medicine is a bit different from medicine or residency, so if you prepare, you will not look back-until your desired success comes. (That is, it is very difficult to take new preparations in medicine / surgery / gynecology by back).
