Bangladesh got recognition for EDAIC Examination Center
The Department of Anesthesia, Analgesia and Intensive Care Medicine at (BSMMU)Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University has been selected as the European Diploma in Anesthesia and International Examination Center for Intensive Care Medicine (IDAIC) From 2021, Bangladeshi doctors will no longer have to travel abroad to participate in the first phase of this(IDAIC) prestigious postgraduate examination. Chairman of the Department of Anesthesia, Analgesia and Intensive Care Medicine, Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman. Bangladesh was considered for conducting the world recognized degree examination for the first time on 9th November 2020. Undoubtedly a matter of pride for doctors in Bangladesh and a wonderful opportunity for doctors in Bangladesh interested in pursuing a career in anesthesia and intensive care medicine.

EDAIC (European Diploma degree for Bangladeshi doctors
The European Diploma in Anesthesia and Intensive Care (EDAIC) Medicine is an international standard test for anesthetists that is recognized in many countries around the world, including Europe.EDAIC is considered to be one of the most prestigious degrees to pursue a career in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. It is easier to get a job as a consultant in countries like Europe and the Middle East, especially if the EDAIC is completed. Idiac first part exams can be taken after completing internship. It can also be tested more than once and does not require separate training. Physicians with postgraduate degrees in anesthesia will be able to participate in the test in addition to their jobs. Bangladeshi anesthesia specialists will not need to pay for the practice in the UK if they have GMIC registration as well as EDAIC.
FCPS Part 1 preparations for Bangladeshi doctors
The European Diploma in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine have worldwide testing centers. Although there are four centers in India, due to high demand, Bangladeshi candidates have to go to Indonesia or Middle Easte countries centers to take the exam of EDAIC. As this test center is in Bangladesh, it will be easier for Bangladeshi doctors to sit for the test and it will save money than past as they do not have to go abroad. The first round of exams will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 and online registration will start from March 2021.
