Noting that the deadly coronavirus will not go away if the shutdown is announced, the subcontinent's renowned virologist and Former Vice Chancellor of BSMMU Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam  suggested  to take effective steps to prevent the covid infection.

He made the remarks in an interview with the media on Thursday, June 24, after recommending a fourteen days shutdown by the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 across the country to control corona virus.

The Ex vice-chancellor of BSMMU Dr Nazrul Islam said, "a committee should be formed in each area. There will be volunteers, imams of mosques, teachers, ward representatives(Memebr) of the area and notable people of the area."
"Mentioning that everyone should be tested for corona virus as expected", he also said those who come positive should be taken in isolation.

Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam said that if there is an isolation crisis, an isolation center should be set up in an open field, under a tent. And those who are more sick have to be hospitalized.

Recalling his participation in the war of independence in 1971, he said, "I fought the war of liberation. I don't want a Bangladesh where people will die in a medical crisis without treatment. '
‘We don’t want theory, we want to see what is involved. If there were ICUs in every border district, the patients there would not come to Dhaka. There was treatment. Failing to get corona treatment locally, Dhaka-bound people have been barred from coming to Dhaka again, 'added the virologist.
